Frequently Asked Questions

Are ToZo materials waterproof?

No. The TorZo materials are water resistent, not waterproof. As part of the fabrication process, a hard coat is applied which then makes the finished application waterproof.

What are the recommended coatings?

Most any hard coat can be applied. Urethanes, varnishes and laquers can all be applied successfully. For horizontal high wear applications, we recommend a total of three coats, one sealer coat and two top coats. Also. the harder and more durable the coating the better it will hold up over time.

What is the maintenance requirements post installation?

Maintenance is a function of the coating. Typically, a mild bleach solution or soap and water is recommended.

What is the fire rating for the TorZo materials?

Our raw base boards have a Class C rating. However, there are coatings on the market that can transform this rating to a Class A.

What is the best adhesive to use with the TorZo materials?

Either a Titebond III or solid surface epoxy can be used to glue the TorZo materials. The solid surface epoxy is preferred usually because it dries quickly, where as the Titebond III requires significantly longer dry times.

Who are the best fabricators for the TorZo materials?

Millwork type companies are best setup for fabricating TorZo materials. This is because our materials best resemble WOOD!!!. Also, because our materials need to have a coating applied, Millwork shops are a good fit because usually they will have spray booths.
