2026 Torzo Surfaces IMTC Recap

Mass Timber Art Gallery

We’re still energized from attending the 10th Annual International Mass Timber Conference. Being surrounded by thousands of like-minded professionals, learning, connecting, and sharing ideas-continues to be an inspiring and valuable experience. The mass timber industry is evolving rapidly, and events like IMTC play a critical role in keeping everyone informed, engaged, and moving forward together.

This year, we were fortunate to contribute in multiple ways, using the conference as an opportunity to educate attendees on Thin CLT and its wide range of capabilities. A key part of those conversations was helping clarify that Thin CLT, often referred to as micro or nano CLT in different regions, is fundamentally the same material, just described with varying terminology. Helping others better understand how and where Thin CLT can be used is central to what we do, and IMTC provided the perfect platform to share that knowledge and build awareness.

TorZo Surfaces was proud to bring several custom installations to life throughout the conference, showcasing the versatility of Thin CLT in real-world applications. Our work could be seen across multiple areas, including the Mass Timber Art Gallery, Women in Timber signage, the new welcome walkthrough selfie station, and the 10-year anniversary main stage sign.

Each sign was constructed using a unique layered approach, maple faces with a walnut core; allowing the design to be revealed through CNC relief, adding depth and contrast to each piece. This approach not only highlighted the visual capabilities of Thin CLT but also demonstrated our ability to work with a wide range of North American species to achieve specific design goals.

The Mass Timber Art Gallery was a standout feature, bringing together photographers and their work capturing mass timber projects from across the industry. The gallery utilized SPF Thin CLT paneling arranged in an “H” configuration, creating a clean, organized flow that allowed attendees to move easily through the space and engage with each piece.

We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a well-executed and impactful event. Being able to contribute to the conference in a meaningful way, and to collaborate with such a forward-thinking community was truly rewarding.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue building on the momentum from IMTC. As the mass timber industry grows, so does the opportunity to connect, educate, and expand the role of Thin CLT in the built environment. We’re grateful for the relationships formed this year and are already looking forward to what’s ahead in 2027.
