WHat is Thin CLT? - A Guide for architects + Designers

Thin CLT, also referred to as micro or nano CLT, is a three-layer, cross-laminated wood panel starting at ¾” thick. While the terminology may vary depending on region, the material itself remains the same. Thin CLT is designed to bridge the gap between structural CLT and finished architectural applications, allowing architects and designers to extend the visual consistency of mass timber throughout a building.

We work with any North American wood species and offer flexibility in panel size and no minimum quantity. Additional customization options include grain matching, lamella width, thicknesses ranging from ¾” to 4”, and precision fabrication such as cut-to-size panels.For example, Thin CLT can be used to wrap exposed steel components so they visually align with surrounding timber elements, creating a continuous design throughout a space.
